Course Description

This course guides you through the key activities that are related to the Watson Query service in IBM Cloud Pak for Data. Throughout this course, you use Watson Query to virtualize data and learn how to create a unified view of different data sources. You also query the virtualized data using an SQL interface and improve your query performance.

Objectives

After completing this course, you should be able to:

• Provision a Watson Query instance on Cloud Pak for Data v4.6 on IBM Cloud
• Create a project for your workload and create Platform assets catalog
• Add data connections to your Watson Query instance
• Virtualize data from the connected data sources – create virtual tables
• Join virtual tables to create joined views
• Query virtual objects using Watson Query’s SQL interface
• Improve query performance in Watson Query by creating caches
